Welcome to Children's Unhappiness and Surveillance Bill

Our blog aims to shed light on the issues facing children today, from The Unhappiness and Surveillance Bill, otherwise known by the government as The Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill.

I am looking around perplexed. How can people not see we are all being made a mockery of.

#AreYouListeningNow    it seems such a simple concept but the current government are not listening to their citizens, seem unable to hear the voice of children, blame parents for being parents, whilst systemically removing their agency to act as parents. The latest idea sounds like Netflix is considered an appropriate moral compass to reset teenage mindsets, rather than ensuring children have caring responsive nurturing parents to ensure they have the optimum opportunity to make appropriate choices. https://victimfocus.cmail19.com/t/j-l-wjjutjd-itkkduhiti-y/ I am cheered that some organisations are calling this out, and hope that others will sign the open letter.

Are we being slowly walked into Tyranny

When I start looking at all the different bills going through in different stages at the moment, and a common theme seems to be more power to the state, or arms of the state (Local authorities). More Surveillance of citizens, more use of the computer says.....

Do not record

It is quite normal when trawling through FOI on the internet to find various exemptions given such as it will exceed the time and cost, or may lead to identification of individuals or may already be reasonably available in the public domain.

This bill is not fit for purpose

The Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill otherwise in my opinion more accurately known as the Children's Unhappiness and Surveillance Bill is not fit for purpose for many reasons.

Privacy

This bill has scary consequences for children's right to data privacy. It introduces a new Information data sharing duty that lowers the threshold to a point that in effect removes a children's right to privacy with no consequence to the data sharer as long as they share under the Clause 4 Information sharing and consistent identifiers.

We are parents who are concerned that no-one is listening about the harm that this bill will cause to families. 

This bill will have a detrimental impact to children.

This bill will have detrimental impact to all education providers whether they are schools or small independent settings. It also reclassifies individuals supporting children's education as a provider.
